Profile


Renata Vardanega is a Postdoctoral Researcher at InnograinLab. She holds a PhD in Food Engineering from the University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil) for the thesis "Use of clean technologies to obtain biosurfactants and prebiotic carbohydrates from Brazilian gingeng (Pfaffia glomerata)".

Her research focuses on sustainable processing technologies and development of advanced food-grade delivery systems for bioactive compounds. She has expertise in supercritical fluid technologies, lipid-based delivery systems, bioactive encapsulation, and strategies to enhance the bioavailability of cannabinoids and other functional ingredients.

After completing her PhD, she continued as postodoctal researcher at the School of Food Engineering at Unicamp for 3 years. During this period, she completed three short-period stays as Visiting Researcher at the University of Antofagasta (Chile). From 2023 to 2025, she was a MSCA Postodoctocal Researcher at the University of Minho (Portugal), where she subsequently continued as an Invited Assistant Researcher until October 2026. Her professional experience includes extensive collaboration with industry and involvement in technology-transfer activities across diverse industrial sectors.
